Did a short stay here in a standard room. While the location is fairly central, one block away from Tate Modern Gallery and a 10-minutes walk to Borough Market and London Bridge, the room itself was a huge disappointment. Very small and with stained carpet and chair. The bed was way too soft for my liking. Humid in the room as the aircondition did not work properly. Dirty window. Poor signals on the TV made it impossible to watch television. The lobby is very nice and inviting though. I would not stay here again.

I’d booked a ‘privileged’ suite and arrived gasping for a soft drink - empty mini bar. Oddly, I asked the lady on reception and she said she would send housekeeping. That never happened. Then I ordered dinner to my room, which turned up without the sauce per the menu. I called to ask for it and again mentioned no mini bar…. Seems like the guy was wanting to explain that they don’t do alcohol, I was clear I just wanted the advertised soft drinks in room.. was quite a stretch to get them to understand so I gave up and just asked for the sauce to go with my dinner. Meanwhile I tried a bite of dinner… steak frits, it was so salty even I as a heavy smoker couldn’t eat it (tongue actually tingling). I had them take it away and decided to just finish up work and go to bed…but then I couldnt turn off the tv. Had to go down and ask them to help… which they did but had to turn the thing off at the plug as broken. Icing on the cake is the wifi is so poor in this room im having to use phone connectivity to work. So all in all I’ve paid quite a price for a premium room without the basics and an inedible dinner… not even a pen in the entire suite! Piss poor, only plus is I can open a window so don’t have to rely on the noisy air con…

An Excellent hotel. Modern, clean and well situated near to many London attractions. Some of the comfiest hotel beds I have stayed in Friendly staff who were happy to help with any request lovely breakfast selection with plenty to choose Will definitely use again

Stayed 4 nights in May, breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent, as was the bathroom and shower, but other areas need work or repairs. The air conditioning wouldn’t cool and our room was so hot couldn’t sleep, opened the window for cool air but loud noises throughout night from vehicles, rubbish trucks etc. Was told maintenance would check but nothing changed. The king bed needed replacement, big lumpy rolls formed on the mattress. We asked to dine one night and were shown to a table by wait staff and given menus, after 30 minutes we were still waiting for someone to appear to take our order, only four others dining! We left and ate elsewhere. I had paid for a late 5pm checkout but couldn’t access our room because they cancelled our card! It is quite expensive to stay at this hotel and they need to up their game. If I hadn’t prepaid we would have found somewhere else.

We stayed at this hotel recently and were very disappointed with our stay. While the lobby area is lovely, the room we had , while a generous size, needed serious maintenance and felt very dated. The toilet did not flush properly (needed to flush it 2-3 times per use), there was no plug in the sink and items (e.g. tissues) were not replenished. Basic items such as a toothbrush holder, shower cap, etc…. were also absent. We needed to report a couple of issues - which were unresolved meaning that we had to re-report the same issues multiple times. We eventually gave up. At one stage, there was no receptionist at the reception area at all and no manager in sight!! The hotel also felt almost like a hostel! If you wanted an extra towel, bathrobe, slippers….it was either an instant “no” or “we don’t have any”! When spending £250 a night, that is simply unacceptable and ridiculous. I travel a lot and have never had a hotel refuse to provide an extra towel or basic amenity. The only positive things I can say is that the cleaning staff do a great time (the room and common areas were immaculate) and the location is very good. However, there are many hotels in this area ….and the Mercure London Bridge is one to avoid!
