Rooms are noisy and are not sealed properly. When it’s windy the wind whistling through the gaps in the doors and windows is so loud you can’t sleep or even speak on the phone. This is common with a lot of hotels on the Gold Coast, basic maintenance items like this are not kept up with making the rooms noisy and uncomfortable.

I booked the room for a special occasion with my children. The event itself was cancelled, which was no problem, because we would have a lovely room to experience. Or, so I had hoped!! I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world and for the price we paid I am astounded the room was in the condition it was. We were upgraded to a suite, however I seriously wonder if the upgrade was no upgrade at all. Our suite had a very large, mould patch in the centre of the room. I’m guessing at some stage there was a coffee table there and the carpet got wet and grew mould. Surely a hazard of this kind is unsuitable for any guest? I kept out of the area entirely as I didn’t want to expose my children to what was potentially toxic mould. Not a small amount either, not that that should matter. Possibly a 60cm round patch and another further towards the window. Again, I want to highlight I am shocked that they’d allow anyone in this room. To me it’s just unacceptable. There were very limited pillows and the bedding wasn’t great at all!! All told. It was bad. I booked this hotel through Accor, and never again, it took 30 minutes on the phone which is just unacceptable. The sales person was just hopeless and had to transfer me, only to start again. Also, when I then looked online, many places had the room available cheaper than through Accor itself. From start to finish my experience with the hotel and Accor itself has been just the worst. I will never stay in another Accor hotel. This just shouldn’t happen. The room had a great view, easy parking, there’d be lots of positive things to say if it wasn’t for the huge mould patch in the carpet!! This was a special treat for myself. As a carer and travelling with two special needs children it should be a given I could trust an establishment like this to make booking easy and provide a safe and comfortable room. That is not what happened. Seriously, do better than this for your guests. I am appalled. Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever stayed somewhere worse.
