This hotel is perfectly located for visiting the many attractions in Greenwich. The room facilities were adequate for an bibget hotel, but nothing more. Unfortunately it has some serious shortcomings. The Banana Tree restaurant and bar has a separate alcohol licence from the hotel. If you buy a drink in the bar you are not allowed to carry it from the bar to the hotel lobby, as the licence is for the bar area only. It’s so bizarre to say the least. There is a bar facility at the hotel reception but it is very limited. The worst transgression for me was that if you order a cooked breakfast it will be served fairly quickly, but on a thick, heavy COLD plate, so that by the time you have eaten half of your food, the rest is cold. For me this is unforgivable. If you serve hot food, serve it on a heated plate. The lift service was the worst I have ever experienced in a modern hotel. The place has only two floors, but the wait time for the lift was endless at times.

We are, however, very sorry to learn that several aspects of your experience did not meet the standards we aim to uphold. We understand the frustration caused by the licensing restrictions between the hotel and the adjoining Banana Tree restaurant. As you rightly pointed out, the alcohol licence held by the restaurant only permits consumption within their designated area. We are two different businesses and, as far as Banana Tree is connected to our hotel, it is not our Food and Beverage space. Hence, if you would like to enjoy a drink you can do so at our bar. If you would like instead to get food and have a wider selection of drinks, guests are more than welcomed to use Banana Tree and all other retails spaces Greenwich has to offer. Regarding breakfast, we sincerely apologise for the issue with cold plates. We will pass your feedback to Banana Tree Management Team. Finally, we are sorry to hear about the delay with the lift service. Our building is quite old and lift can be busy at peak times. Unfortunately there is no possibility to add a second lift. Comfortable stay

I stayed at Ibis Greenwich for two nights for a work trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My request for a quiet room was taken into consideration, I slept really well. Breakfast is available as an extra in the adjacent restaurant and the choices are good. The location is great, very close to transport options and right in the middle of Greenwich village.

Perfect budget hotel

07/05/25 - 08/05/25 Me and my partner stayed in a standard double room, £105. Location: Located at the heart of Greenwich, this hotel was right next to the centre of Cutty Sark. The walk down was very short, and perfect if you are staying here for University of Greenwich as well for exams and graduation. Our room was on the side where the car park was. The only noise we could hear were the church bells in the evening. We had no issues with noise which was perfect for us. Service: The service was wonderful. The desk and bar is open 24h a day. There were signs around the hotel room saying that towels and sheets can be replaced every three days, but we never needed this. Bedroom: Overall the bedroom was really lovely and very clean. We got a standard double bed with one pillow each, and I believe there were some spare pillows on the shelf if you require two. The room included a large television mounted on the wall. You get a desk, a chair and a seating area mounted on the wall next to the bed. There is a small bin and also a portable radiator if it does get cold. It was nice to have a window which you can open as well. PG tips tea and coffee saches is included with a kettle and milk saches. You also get a light on the side of each bed, and the aircon was working perfectly which can be adjusted on the wall. My only downside is that the plugs were located far from the bed and were only situated in the corner of the desk as pictured. It would have been nice to have one plug each next to both sides of the bed. Bathroom: Overall the bathroom was lovely. There is a small hygiene bin and four sets of towels as well as an extra towel to serve as the bathroom mat. Two toilet rolls were included, there were two glasses on the side of the bathroom for hygiene uses as well as soap. Included was a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner as well as a body wash. The shower was spacious and was easy to use. Also included is two bathroom hooks. A few downsides to note here was there were a few hairs on the floor of the bathroom, but the rest of the bathroom were very clean. The lights do take a while to flick on in the bathroom, but this wasn’t an issue for us just something we noticed. If I am being really picky, there is a bit of a step from the bathroom to the bedroom as pictured here, none of us noticed this at first because the step was very small but did nearly fall over on a few occasions. Final thoughts: For a budget hotel, we really enjoyed our stay, and the price we payed reflected our room. We will definitely be staying here again.

Room was amazing. Visited with my elderly Mum who although can walk short distances had to use her little fold up electric mobility scooter to get us from the station to the hotel. I am convinced just because she came into the hotel on her little scooter we were given a disabled persons room (this wasn't booked). Full mod cons in bathroom for someone with a disability & huge room meaning we didn't have to keep folding up the buggy & then reopen it again. Although not hard never goes according to plan! Amazing staff always happy to please, I also liked the t-shirt wearing not suited & booted like other hotels. The Banana Tree restaurant was amazing but breakfast not quite right £16.50 for full english, no option to have just eggs or just bacon & the toaster had just about cooked my toast by lunchtime! Amazing stay & would highly recommend.

Excellent situation and value

Ibis Greenwich is very well placed with a host of tourist sites within walking distance. The welcome is of a good standard and the price is certainly value for money. Our room - and particularly the bathroom - was rather on the small side but fully equipped for a budget hotel. Comfortable bed and the place well cleaned and decorated. Quiet on the car park side. Plenty of places in the area to eat - including breakfast if you don't fancy the hotel offering. This was the first hotel we have met where there was a charge (£3) for leaving a case - the alternative being £15 for an early check-in, which is quite normal nowadays.
